MoT+++ is absolutely thrilled to announce the first sound event since the start of the pandemic. this September we are excited to present another eclectic mix of sound artists from Vietnam and abroad, representing new approaches and angles in three different interpretations of sound.
the line-up includes underground musician and sound artist Poly, aka Hà Đăng Tùng, harsh noise artist Diaphragmatic, aka Nate Tandy and Chinh Ba, an independent performance artist experimenting across a range of poetry, art, sound, contemporary music.

Poly, aka Hà Đăng Tùng, is an underground musician and sound artist who is active in many different aspects of the Hanoi art and music scene. he is an accomplished guitarist and keyboard player known for his work in several Hanoian indie rock bands such as Phác Họa Xanh and Bluemato. in addition, he is a sound engineer and music producer who has worked behind the boards and mixing desks at many various venues and music studios around Hà Nội. recently Poly has gained recognition for his solo performances as an ambient electronic artist and is currently participating as a resident artist in the Into Thin Air program curated by Manzi Art Space as well as the Hình Của Nhạc program hosted by Đom Đóm Center for Experimental Music. Poly will be performing a special experimental ambient set prepared for MoT sound utilizing audio and visual elements to create a unique and meditative sonic landscape.

Diaphragmatic, aka Nate Tandy, is a harsh noise artist hailing from Indiana, USA. he has been based in Vietnam for some years and is often seen performing around Hanoi’s underground noise & sound art scene. Nate Tandy started the harsh noise project Diaphragmatic in 2009 in the countryside of Indiana. the project is improvisational in nature, incorporating amplified scrap metal and limited electronics like tapes, reel-to-reel, and pedals. Diaphragmatic has always been about active, not passive, performance, preferring no pussyfooting, short-blast performances. having recently toured in the US, Diaphragmatic has also previously performed in Canada, Australia, and Vietnam, typically using metal junks found from these areas for sets.

Chinh Bais an independent performance artist currently based in Hội An, Vietnam, experimenting across a range of poetry, art, sound, contemporary music. Chinh Ba began his role as an independent poet performing artist after a project using sound effects on memory areas in 2013. the use of sound installation art in different spatial levels to open up his own poetry creates space for viewers/audiences to live in their own domain. the solo performance Tranquility And War (a project use Chinh’s poems, Chinh’s ethnic vocal and skydrums – the drums are made by bombs from Vietnam-US war), and Being Stuck In The Reincanation Trap (a project of Chinh’s poems performance with experimental music) have been held in Hue, Hoi An, HCMC, and well received by the audience as a emerging unique style.

MoT +++ xin vui mừng thông báo về sự kiện MoT sound đầu tiên kể từ khi bắt đầu đại dịch. tối 29 tháng 9 này, chúng tôi xin giới thiệu một sự kết hợp của các nghệ sĩ âm thanh từ Việt Nam và nước ngoài, ba cách tiếp cận và góc độ mới, ba cách hiểu khác nhau về âm thanh.
sự kiện có trình bày của nghệ sĩ âm thanh Poly, hay còn gọi là Hà Đăng Tùng, nghệ sĩ tạp âm Diaphragmatic, tên thật là Nate Tandyvà Chinh Ba, một nghệ sĩ biểu diễn độc lập thử nghiệm nhiều thể loại thơ, nghệ thuật, âm thanh, âm nhạc đương đại.

Poly, hay còn gọi là Hà Đăng Tùng, là một nhạc sĩ, nghệ sĩ âm thanh underground, hoạt động trong nhiều lĩnh vực khác nhau của môi trường âm nhạc và nghệ thuật Hà Nội. Poly là một nghệ sĩ guitar và người chơi keyboard thành công được biết đến với tác phẩm của mình trong một số ban nhạc indie rock ở Hà Nội như Phác Họa Xanh và Bluemato. ngoài ra, anh còn là một kỹ sư âm thanh và nhà sản xuất âm nhạc, đã từng làm việc phía sau các ban và bàn hòa âm tại nhiều địa điểm và phòng thu âm nhạc khác nhau ở Hà Nội. gần đây Poly đã được công nhận với những màn biểu diễn solo của mình với tư cách là một nghệ sĩ điện tử ambient và hiện đang tham gia với tư cách là nghệ sĩ lưu trú trong chương trình Into Thin Air do Manzi Art Space phụ trách cũng như chương trình Hình Của Nhạcdo Trung tâm Âm nhạc Thử nghiệm Đom Đóm tổ chức. Poly sẽ thực hiện một bộ môi trường thử nghiệm đặc biệt được chuẩn bị cho MọT sound sử dụng các yếu tố âm thanh và hình ảnh để tạo ra một cảnh quan âm thanh độc đáo và thiền định.

Nate Tandy bắt đầu “dự án tiếng ồn khắc nghiệt” Diaphragmatic vào năm 2009 tại vùng nông thôn Indiana, mỹ. dự án có tính chất ngẫu hứng, kết hợp phế liệu kim loại được khuếch đại và các thiết bị điện tử như băng, cuộn reel-to-reel và bàn đạp. trước khi lưu diễn tại mỹ, Diaphragmatic cũng đã từng biểu diễn ở Canada, Úc và Việt Nam, thường sử dụng các loại phế liệu kim loại được tìm thấy cho các trình diễn của mình.

Chinh Ba là nghệ sĩ trình diễn độc lập người Việt đang sống và làm việc tại Hội An. Chinh Ba là nghệ sĩ trình diễn đa thể loại chủ yếu là sáng tác và trình diễn thơ, âm nhạc, âm thanh, chuyển động. Chinh Ba bắt đầu con đường của một nghệ sĩ độc lập sau một dự án sắp đặt âm thanh nhằm tác động vào các vùng hoài niệm vào năm 2013. sử dụng các sắp đặt các âm thanh trong nhiều tầng lớp khác nhau để đến với thơ của anh tạo thành một không gian tương tác với người thưởng thức. các trình diễn độc lập của anh như Thanh bình và chiến tranh (một dự án sử dụng thơvà giọng vocal của Chinh Ba, skydrum, một loại trống làm bằng vỏ bom lấy từ chiến tranh Việt Nam), mắc kẹt trong chuỗi luân hồi được tổ chức tại Huế, TPHCM và Hội An đã được đón nhận như một lối trình diễn mang dấu ấn của riêng Chinh Ba.
