A. Farm is pleased to invite you to our Season 3 open-studios featuring the projects developed by our resident artists over the last 4 months. This year has been quite a whirlwind and soon A. Farm will be embarking on a new chapter of its history in another location. It is an auspicious coincidence that our event takes place on a solstice, the highest culmination of the sun just as we have culminated in a 2-year journey of hard work and residents complete their artistic experiments at our space. With incredible resident artists, a programme of special guests, a temporary farewell and a summer solstice at hand we hope that you can all join us for a final gathering in the spirit of A. Farm on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of June 2020.
Season 3 open-studios will feature Nghia Dang’s surgical deconstruction of fantasies and mindscapes with a series of drawings, an immersive installation on the performativity of time by Chu Hao Pei, and Trang Ly’s sonic reflections on urban development and narratives of displacement. Saverio Tonoli’s ongoing explorations of sublime tapestries made of ink and paper will dialogue with Claire Bloomfield semi-digital collages, numerical tapestries of their own. Finally, Yeonjeong and Sikarnt Skoolisariyaporn, both abroad, will be present through video performances recorded at A. Farm and in Bangkok respectively.
Le Phi Long, artist-in-residence of the Réciprocité programme (Institut français) will also be joining A. Farm’s residents with an installation developed during his stay at la Cité des Arts in Paris.
Of course, as an ongoing tradition 289e artist bar will be taking care of beverages but this time with a literary twist as we turn the kitchen into a poetry corner with works by Mrbambii and writer-in-residence Kayla Kurin.
In memory of Season 1 A. Farm resident and MoT+++ collective member Lananh Le, we will show a full 12-hour screening of one digital painting from her last show. There will also be performances from Kim Trang, Dat Nguyen, and Ian Richter to end the evening. Finally on Sunday we will go for a full-blown midsommar celebration to say goodbye to our space with a solstice livestream, a videoclub featuring 1970s art-house films organised by Tu (Nai Cinema) and Mary (Sàn Art), and sound / dance performances by Doan Toan, Trang Ly and Dat Nguyen.
Established in 2018, A. Farm is a hub for artists, cultural workers, events and exhibitions. Located in a converted factory at the edge of Ho Chi Minh City, A. Farm is collaboratively managed by the arts organizations Nguyen Art Foundation, MoT+++ and Sàn Art.

A. Farm hân hạnh mời các bạn đến tham dự sự kiện mở xưởng mùa 3 với những dự án do các nghệ sĩ lưu trú phát triển trong 4 tháng qua. Đã có rất nhiều sự kiện trong năm qua và chẳng mấy chốc A. Farm sẽ bắt đầu một chương mới tại một địa điểm khác. Như một sự trùng hợp ngẫu nhiên, sự kiện của chúng mình diễn ra vào ngày hạ chí, đánh dấu hành trình 2 năm làm việc và cũng như thành quả thử nghiệm nghệ thuật của các nghệ sĩ lưu trú tại không gian A. Farm. Hãy tới tham gia sự kiện cuối cùng tại địa điểm hiện tại của A. Farm vào thứ Bảy ngày 20 và Chủ nhật ngày 21 tháng 6 năm 2020 để gặp gỡ các nghệ sĩ, những vị khách mời, cũng như nói lời tạm biệt và ăn mừng ngày hạ chí.
Sự kiện mở xưởng mùa 3 giới thiệu tác phẩm của Nghĩa Đặng với các bản vẽ mang tính giải phẫu, giải cấu trúc trên những miền kỳ ảo, một sắp đặt của Chu Hao Pei về khả năng trình diễn của thời gian và suy tư âm thanh của Trang Lý về phát triển đô thị và dịch chuyển. Saverio Tonoli, với những khám phá với mực và giấy sẽ đối thoại với ảnh ghép bán-kỹ-thuật-số của Claire Bloomfield. Cuối cùng, Yeonjeong và Sikarnt Skoolisariyaporn, cả hai đều đang ở nước ngoài, sẽ có mặt thông qua các trình diễn video được ghi lại tại A. Farm và Bangkok.
Lê Phi Long, nghệ sĩ lưu trú của chương trình Réciprocité (Acadut français) cũng sẽ tham gia cùng A. Farm với một sắp đặt được phát triển trong thời gian lưu trú tại la Cité des Arts ở Paris.
Tất nhiên, theo truyền thống, quán bar nghệ sĩ 289e sẽ có mặt với đồ uống nhưng lần này còn có một góc thơ trong nhà bếp với trình bày của Mrbambii và Kayla Kurin.
Để tưởng nhớ nghệ sĩ lưu trú mùa 1 và thành viên MoT +++ Collective, Lananh Lê, chúng mình sẽ trình chiếu một bức tranh kỹ thuật số kéo dài 12 giờ, lấy từ triển lãm cuối cùng của cô. Ngoài ra còn có các trình diễn của Kim Trang, Đạt Nguyễn, và Ian Richter để kết thúc buổi tối. Cuối cùng vào Chủ nhật, chúng mình sẽ tổ chức một lễ kỷ niệm để nói lời tạm biệt với không gian với một buổi livestream hạ chí, một videoclub gồm các bộ phim nghệ thuật thập niên 1970 do Tú (Nai Cinema) và Mary (Sàn Art) chiếu, và trình diễn âm thanh / múa của Toàn Đoàn, Trang Lý và Đạt Nguyễn.
Thành lập năm 2018, A. Farm là nơi dành cho các nghệ sĩ, người hoạt động văn hoá, sự kiện và triển lãm. Nằm trong một nhà máy được cải tạo bên rìa Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, không gian A. Farm do các tổ chức nghệ thuật Nguyễn Art Foundation, MoT+++ và Sàn Art phối hợp điều hành.
