Architecture as a Theater is a cooperative exhibition between Swiss photographer Régis Golay from Geneva-based Federal Studio and architecture studio group8asia.
This innovative collaboration explores the magic that takes place behind architectural project developments. The photos reflect details of major projects developed by group8asia in Punggol, Singapore seen through the eyes of Régis Golay: workers in action, concrete structures, and other details often hidden from public eyes. The images show a glimpse of what happens far from the public eyes, like a peek behind theater’s curtains.
Born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1978, Régis Golay graduated from the world-famous Art and Design College of Lausanne. Since he joined Federal Studio in 2005, he has developed an aesthetic vision with appeal both to the art connoisseur and to his customers from the corporate world to fulfill the wish of blurring the boundaries between contemporary art, architecture, and luxury marketing, among others.
Group8 is a Swiss-owned company specializing in architectural design, urban planning, and interior design. Founded in 2000, the company has gained extensive experience in cooperating with public project owners such as International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), United Nations Office (UNO), World Trade Organization (WTO), while also carrying out many private projects. In 2007, group8 opened its Asian branch group8asia in Hanoi before opening an office in Singapore.
